Move with intention. Wear with focus.
Proprioceptive cueing for asana alignment, gentle support for restorative practice, the wearable thread between body and breath.
Yoga and Pilates are practices of awareness as much as movement. The mat is a place where you learn what your body is doing in space — where the shoulder rotates, where the hip drops, where the breath catches under load. Kinesiology tape extends that awareness off the mat, giving you a steady proprioceptive cue throughout your practice and the hours that follow.
The tape on this page is selected for practitioners who want gentle, non-restrictive support — not the heavy bracing of a contact sport, but a subtle tug on the skin that says “here, this is what your scapula is doing right now.” And for those who want their wearable to carry meaning, the Chakra Talisman edition translates an ancient symbolic language onto a thoroughly modern textile.
Proprioception — your body’s sense of where it is in space — is the hidden engine of every asana. When you balance in tree pose, when you stack the shoulder over the wrist in side plank, when you lengthen through utthita trikonasana, it’s thousands of small mechanoreceptors in your skin, fascia and joints that tell your brain which stabilising muscles to fire and when. Kinesiology tape works by gently pulling on the skin above the muscle you’ve taped, amplifying that feedback signal so the small postural muscles engage on time, not late.
Most yoga injuries are not dramatic. They’re the slow accumulation of over-stretched ligaments at end range, repetitive shoulder load through hundreds of chaturangas, and the lower-back compensation that creeps in when twists are forced beyond what the hip is willing to give. Tape doesn’t prevent these — only mindful practice does — but it cues you. You feel where your sacrum is in a deep twist. You notice the moment your shoulder hikes in updog. That feedback is the difference between an injury you accumulate and one you avoid.
Crucially, kinesiology tape never restricts range of motion. It moves with the breath. You can fold forward, bind, invert, sweat through a 90-minute hot class — the tape goes with you. Synthetic kinesiology tape (95% Rayon, 5% Spandex) holds through perspiration and showers for 5-7 days, which means one application before a Monday morning vinyasa carries you through a week of practice.
For practitioners drawn to the symbolic dimension of yoga, the Chakra Talisman tape prints the seven chakras, Reiki symbols and Sak Yant motifs along a vertical or horizontal strip — a wearable thread that connects the energetic vocabulary of your tradition to the practical support your body needs on the mat.
A strip across the upper traps or along the spine reminds your shoulders to soften and your spine to lengthen through standing poses and inversions.
Gentle sacral or low-back tape supports passive holds without restricting the soft openings restorative shapes are designed to create.
Pigeon, half-pigeon, baddha konasana — a sacral fan reduces the sense of instability some practitioners feel during deep hip work.
Tape across the upper back and shoulders provides proprioceptive feedback for the engagement patterns inversions demand.
Discreet beige tape supports the linea alba and lower back as core strength rebuilds — always with midwife or physio sign-off first.
A vertical strip along the paraspinals helps you feel which side of the spine is engaging and which is collapsing through deep twisting shapes.
Six tapes hand-picked from the 10 yoga-suitable options — a mix of the symbolic Chakra Talisman edition and the plain studio-friendly colours that disappear under leggings.

Apply your tape about 30 minutes before practice. Skin should be clean, dry and cool — never tape over warmed-up sweaty skin or freshly applied moisturiser; the adhesive won’t bond properly. Round the corners of each strip with scissors only if you want extra wear time (our pre-cut strips are already rounded). Rub firmly along the length once applied — body heat activates the acrylic adhesive.
Once on, the tape is safe through hot yoga, showers, swims and 7 days of practice. If an edge lifts, trim it — don’t pull. To remove, soak with oil or warm water and peel slowly in the direction of hair growth. If you’re new to taping, start with a single sacral strip or upper-back cue before practice, see how your body responds, and build from there.
