About Kinesiology

How it started

Most kinesiology tape on the market in 2019 had two problems and no one was fixing them. First, every roll arrived flattened or frayed at the edges, sealed in soft plastic, deformed in transit, half-stuck to its own backing paper before you even opened it. Second, every strip had to be cut by hand: scissors out, measure roughly, hope you got the length right, deal with the off-cuts.

We founded Kinesiology Sports Tape Limited that year in Yorkshire to fix both problems with one piece of design: a credit-card-sized dispenser holding 20 pre-cut strips, each at the medically-favoured 5cm × 25cm size, threaded so they pull out cleanly one at a time. Pull. Tear. Apply. The tape arrives ready, stays ready in your kit bag, and gets onto your skin in under 10 seconds.

What we make

Our plain range covers ten colours: beige, black, blue, green, grey, orange, pink, red, white and yellow, each in the same 20-strip pre-cut pack with built-in dispenser. Beige is the discreet bestseller; black is the gym-floor default; the brighter colours go to runners, cyclists and team sports.

The Talisman Collection is exclusive to us. Vertical and horizontal designs in Chakra, Dreamcatcher, Viking, Latin and Feng Shui motifs, with the same medical-grade adhesion and synthetic substrate as our plain range, just with a different aesthetic. Most kinesiology tape brands offer two colours. We offer fifty-plus combinations.

How it’s made

The tape itself is 95% Rayon / 5% Spandex, a synthetic blend chosen deliberately over the traditional cotton. Synthetic fibre is naturally antimicrobial, dries roughly three times faster than cotton, holds its tension longer through sweat and water, and gives you the full 5 to 7 day wear time the format is designed for. Cotton wicks moisture into the adhesive layer and peels at day two; synthetic doesn’t.

The adhesive is medical-grade, hypoallergenic, latex-free acrylic, heat-activated, so a 30-second rub after application bonds it to the skin. Stretch range is 40 to 70% of the resting length, calibrated to mirror muscle movement without restricting range of motion.

We are a private-label manufacturer. The tape, the dispenser and the packaging are our own, designed in Yorkshire, manufactured to our specification, CE marked and SGS certified. We sell direct, no middlemen, no marketplace commissions. That’s how we can price single rolls at £4.99 when most competitors charge double.

Who uses our tape

Physiotherapy clinics across the UK keep our packs on the treatment-room shelf because the dispenser saves them sixty seconds between patients. CrossFit boxes, sports teams and rehab specialists buy us in bulk through our wholesale channel because the per-roll price scales and the format makes inventory easy. Marathon training groups order in race colours. Yoga studios stock the calming greens and beiges. Powerlifters take black and red.

Outside the professional buyers, we ship to weekend footballers nursing a knee, climbers patching up tweaked fingers, new parents managing lifting strain, and office workers taping up shoulder tension that desk-life has handed them. The dispenser was originally a clinic-floor convenience. The way it turned out, it is just as useful in a glove box, gym bag or family medicine drawer.

What kinesiology tape is, and what it isn’t

Kinesiology tape is an elastic, breathable tape with a gentle adhesive. Applied with the right tension across a muscle, joint or area of soft tissue, it provides proprioceptive feedback (your skin notices the slight pull) and gentle support without restricting movement the way a rigid brace would. People use it during sport, in recovery, and during everyday activity.

It is a premium athletic support and comfort product. It is not a medical device, and we make no claims that it treats, cures or diagnoses any condition. If pain persists, see a qualified physiotherapist or your GP. We’re happy to be in their kit either way.
