Build a strip pack →The problem with buying a whole roll
A roll of kinesiology tape is five metres long. That is twenty applications, give or take. If you have taped a knee before and you know the tape works for you, a roll is obviously the right buy. If you have not, you are being asked to commit to twenty applications of something you have never had on your skin.
And tape is personal. How long it holds depends on your skin, how much you sweat, where you are putting it and how well you prepped. The only way to know is to wear it.
So we cut the roll up
A strip pack is exactly what it sounds like. Ten individual pre-cut strips, each 5cm × 25cm with rounded corners, each on its own backing paper. Same tape as the roll, same adhesive, same everything. You pick the ten.
- Plain colours — 49p a strip, ten colours to choose from
- Black Talisman — 54p a strip, ten printed designs in white on black
- Beige Talisman — 54p a strip, six designs printed in black on natural beige
Mix them however you like. Strips from any of the three packs count towards the ten, so nine plain colours and one Viking design is a perfectly normal order.
Why ten strips post cheaper than one roll
This is the bit that makes the whole thing possible, and it is pure Royal Mail arithmetic.
A five metre roll is nearly 5cm across. Royal Mail's large letter limit is 2.5cm thick. So a roll can never go as a large letter — it travels as a parcel, and a parcel is £4.95 on Tracked 48. Ten flat strips in an envelope clear the large letter limit easily, which costs £1.55, and we make it free from ten.
That is the only reason ten strips can land on your doormat for less than a single roll. Nothing clever, just a thickness limit.
What ten strips actually gets you
Most applications take two strips. A pack of ten is about five applications.
| Where | Strips |
|---|---|
| Knee, shoulder, ankle, elbow, foot, wrist, neck | 2 |
| Lower back, or any decompression cross over a sore spot | 3 |
| A single muscle run — calf, forearm | 1 |
At five to seven days of wear per application, ten strips is roughly a month of taping one area a week.
Feel the difference
Here is the honest reason we want you to try it rather than read about it. Most tape at this price is cotton, and cotton behaves differently on skin. It absorbs sweat and holds it against you, which is why cotton tape tends to lift at the edges by the second day.
Ours is 95% rayon and 5% spandex. It wicks moisture and dries, which is how it holds for five to seven days through showers and training. It is the same synthetic fabric the branded tapes use, and theirs costs £13 to £25 a roll.
You will notice it on day three, not day one. That is exactly why a ten strip pack is a better test than a single application. We have written up the fabric difference in detail in synthetic vs cotton kinesiology tape.

Plain Colours — 49p a strip Black Talisman — 54p Beige Talisman — 54pWhen you should just buy the roll
We are not going to pretend strips are always the right answer. Buy a roll if you already know the tape suits you, if you want the dispenser, or if you are taping regularly. Three rolls is £14.97 delivered free, which is 25p a strip — half the price of a strip pack and the cheapest tape we sell.
There is no dispenser in a strip pack. That is deliberate: the dispenser is what makes a roll a parcel.
Frequently asked questions
Is the strip the same tape as the roll?
Identical. Same 95% rayon and 5% spandex fabric, same medical-grade latex-free adhesive, same 5cm × 25cm cut with rounded corners. The only difference is that strips come loose on backing paper instead of threaded through a dispenser.
Can I mix plain colours and printed designs in one pack?
Yes. Strips from any of the three packs count towards the ten for free delivery, so you can take a few of each.
How long does one strip last on the skin?
Five to seven days with proper skin prep. The tape is water resistant and sweat resistant, so showering and swimming are fine. Joints flex more and peel sooner; flat areas like the lower back hold longest.
What if I only want three or four strips?
You can buy any number. Below ten, UK postage is £1.55 by Royal Mail 2nd Class charged once per order, so three strips is £3.02 delivered. Ten is almost always the better buy.
Do you deliver outside the UK?
No. We deliver to United Kingdom addresses only. Order before 3pm Monday to Friday and it leaves Yorkshire the same day.
